Account registration

To register for an Unhinged Parrot account, you may provide us with a username, your age, and email address. In some countries, you may also provide us with your phone number.

You may also register using certain social logins, such as Google and Facebook. If you register using a social login, Unhinged Parrot may receive information about you from your social login provider, including your email address and contacts. If you try to log in with a password when you have registered using a social login, we may remind you to log in using the social provider instead.

You can manage your Unhinged Parrot account and social logins within the app Settings.

AI features

Unhinged Parrot uses Artificial Intelligence ("AI") to help create lessons, matches, and other content within the app, based on users' learning activity.

Speaking activities

Some activities involve you speaking into the Unhinged Parrot app. To recognize and transcribe your speech, your audio is sent directly to OpenAI. You may skip speaking activities. We will not use your audio recordings to develop any voice cloning technology.

Activity data & IP addresses

When you use the Service, we may generate data about your use of the Service, which may include your browser and device data, log data, and IP address. We will also generate data regarding your engagement in educational activities on the Service.

We may recommend other Unhinged Parrot users for you to follow, and for other users to follow you, based on a shared IP address such as other users on the same WiFi network as you, or if other users share your device. We will retain your IP address for no more than thirty (30) days, unless exceptional circumstances require longer retention.

If you purchase an Unhinged Parrot subscription and submit a payment method, we may retain your IP address for longer solely for purposes of payment processing and fraud prevention.
